Ok, so now we are at the "The Pits Campground that is maintained by BLM and is soooooooo cheap. It's only $2.00 a night and honest to goodness we are in a pit, hence the name - lol. The camp host is Bryan is the nicest host we've ever encountered and has the cleanest potty house we've ever seen!! Thank you Bryan!!
Mostly hikers, and boulder climbers and fishing people are the main tenants that stay here. We've meet some really interesting people. We've meet a really cool 33 year ole gal from Germany who is visiting the USA and Canada for a year (Foreigners can only stay in the USA for 90 days on their Visa) who is sharing a dinner with us tonight at our camp. Lets see - also a very sweet gent of a guy who travels all over United States on his bike and shares the gospel to all he encounters who we shared a meal with in our RV a week ago. A couple from Washington who is from England who thought we where complete idiots for getting water daily and walking it to our RV (a mile each way walk that was no biggy for us)but still they where very sweet. And many others that we thank for the good company. Now there's over 50 sites here and mostly young folks that stay and I have to say they are so polite and well-behaved that they put the older people to shame (I say that because it was the older folks getting drunk and stupid as opposed to the younger folks).
Boulder Climbing is a cool thing to watch in this part of the country and we got to watch some of these folks of all ages doing this..... Bouldering is a style of rock climbing undertaken without a rope and normally limited to very short climbs over a crash pad so that a fall will not result in serious injury. It is typically practiced on large natural boulders or artificial boulders in gyms and outdoor urban areas. However, it may also be practiced at the base of larger rock faces, or even on buildings or public architecture.
This is not a sport for Jorge because of his RA and I don't have the shoes or the mat to take this on but maybe when we come back through the area in October I will get the chance to do this. Can't wait..... So in the meantime we are doing a lot of hiking and bike riding and now we are on the average of 40-50 miles a week and yeppers I'm dropping the weight and we're both getting a lot strongers.
We only have a couple more weeks here and then off to June Lake. We hope everyone is well and that all is healthy and happy!!
