American Bald Eagle

Yesterday our friends where coming back from chores when they noticed a beauty of a beast the "American Bald Eagle" eating in what we think is a goose or large bird of nature. They came to where Jorge was working to tell him. Jorge came running into the RV like a child who was about to spin his first "Top". I was working on my crocheting order (10 infants hats http://www.etsy.com/shop/mrscraftyrving) when he burst in excitement looking for his camera. So he finds it and heads out only to learn his battery is dead. He comes back in pouting and realizes it's to late to charge the battery...
But having wonderful friends and a better camera they where able to get some great shots and was so kind to email them to me last night giving me permission to use the photos to share with my followers.

So how did this bird become our symbol of the good old US of A? Here is a great site tell you the facts about the Eagle http://www.baldeagleinfo.com/ facts like becoming an endangered species in 1967. Just click on the web site and get to know your American Bald Eagles because they are coming back stronger then ever.
In January of 1784 elder statesman Benjamin Franklin registered his own disapproval of the eagle as our National bird when he stated:

"The bald eagle...is a bird of bad moral character; like those among men who live by sharping and robbing, he is generally poor, and often very lousy. "The turkey is a much more respectable bird and withal a true original native of America." thank goodness George Washington had final say in the matter. Could you imagine the turkey on our flags?

A bald eagle goes into a barber shop for a haircut. “Sorry, I can’t give you a haircut,” the barber says. “Why not?” the bald eagle squawked. “Because your Bald.” lol I heard this from a Boy Scout.
